Citizen's Corner

Welcome to our Citizens Corner, a feature of our website through which suggestions for, or questions about, the City can be asked and responses provided. We hope this feature will be another positive way for community outreach and communication.

Depending on the nature of the questions, best efforts will be made to provide a response within three business days (responses requiring extended research may take a little longer). This feature should NOT be used for “open records” requests (contact the City Clerk at darlene.roellig@stmarysga.gov) or for service requests (contact (deborah.walker-reed@stmarysga.gov). Frequently asked questions and procedural processes are mentioned elsewhere on our website.

Georgia has a broad public records law, thus e-mail addresses sent to the City are subject to becoming public information. Responses provided will be based on factual data available to the City at the time of the response. Although previous responses are available for reviewing, caution should be exercised in that the status of the response may change over time.

This feature is not a blog, a place for dialog, or exchange of comments; there are other means of such communication within the community. Upcoming policy questions of the City Council cannot be addressed. Reasons for a particular City Council decision should be sent directly to City Council members (e-mails are available on this website). Responses will not be provided to questions of anonymous senders (contact information is helpful in case additional clarification on a question is needed). Some questions, in the sole determination of the City Manager, may not be responded to, such questions will include, but are not limited to certain personnel related items, legally protected responses, responses related to pending legal action, questions with personal attacks or inappropriate language, etc.
